1. Name of the Department: Statistics 2. Year of Establishment: The Department of Statistics, a realm where numbers tell stories, was established in 1955. Since then, it has been dedicated to unraveling patterns and insights hidden within data. 3. Programmes Offered: The department offers a spectrum of academic programs, including a Bachelor's degree (B.Sc.), Master's degree (M.Sc.), and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) courses. This comprehensive curriculum reflects the department's commitment to nurturing statisticians at various educational levels. 4. Interdisciplinary Exploration: Currently, the department does not offer interdisciplinary courses. However, it maintains a singular focus on the principles and methodologies of statistics, ensuring a deep understanding of this essential discipline. 5. Academic Framework: The Undergraduate program operates on a Choice Based Credit System (CBCS), allowing students flexibility and choice in their statistical journey. At the Postgraduate level, the department follows a Semester-based credit system, ensuring a structured and dynamic learning experience. 6. Collaborative Initiatives: Currently, the department does not actively participate in courses offered by other departments.
